in the alley!
talk about living without borders - Alley Cats was a great play! we were at the opening night last night at the Vogue Theater and enjoyed the show tremendously. it's a contemporary play that's tailor-fit to vancouver's quirky neighborhood, especially the downtown area... Alley Cats is almost Rent's funnier and younger sister (no pun intended).
as expected, there were mistakes and missed cues here and there - mostly by the girl who played Hilda - but she was quick to recover from them anyway.
i love that the cast is a small one, and the set a pretty simple one too. the best part to watch out for - a male ballet dancer (ballerino?!?) in the show who makes a Swan Lake death scene.
so if you're into a quirky storyline, catchy songs, and lots of kissing on-stage... catch Alley Cats!
