the long way home

events from tuesday to thursday now seem fuzzy to me.

tuesday morning we got my passport - but found out i had to attend a CFO seminar to get a sticker that was required by philippine immigration laws. fortunately, they have it everyday so i was able to attend it wednesday, and sat thru the whole half-day thing. mind you, it was a bit of a lecture - with the officers really scaring the wits out of the attendees, even telling us that everything we're bringing should be accounted for and typewritten into the appropriate form.

(ha! but when i went thru canadian immigration and customs, they didn't even bother to look for the freakin' form!).

tuesday was a marathon - started with going to 2 banks to encash checks, a trip to megamall to purchase paintings, and MTQ to pick-up our marriage certificate (we apparently signed on the wrong line so we had to re-sign it and send it to my lolo who married us, for him to sign it again - hay, stress nga naman!). wednesday was another long one - cfo seminar in the morning, a haircut and other errands in the afternoon, then packing (and itemizing them, since cfo officer told me to do so). thursday morning we were able to squeeze in an appointment with the derma for aldo, pack some more, and finally hop into the car to get to the airport in time.

after our 13-hour flight, it was another 2-hour wait at the immigration section so that i could land my papers properly. at customs, we literally just handed over the customs declaration card they gave us in the plane - they never looked for my itemized personal goods list, nor did they inspect our bags.

welcome to canada!
